General Information
Submitted by webmaster on Sun, 09/21/2008 - 12:28.We are a national affiliated sorority with chapters located at numerous colleges and universities across the north east. We are based on philanthropy and partake in as much philanthropic activities as possible both on and off campus. Some examples of philanthropies that we have participated in in the past are helping out at the local soup kitchen, campus blood drives, breast cancer awareness walks, and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (a walk in Keene to fight domestic violence). In addition to philanthropy events, we also do various fundraisers throughout the year to help raise money for our philanthropies and other sorority funds. Some examples of fundraisers we have done in the past include car washes, yankee candle sales, and magazine sales. Lastly, and most importantly we like to have fun. Throughout the semester we have several socials and sister retreats. Some examples of socials that we have every semester are our Sisters and Dates social (where every sister is allowed to invite a date or a friend and we decorate and hang out at our house for the night), our Sisters and Friends social (where every sister is allowed to invite up to 5 friends and we again decorate the house and hang out there together), our Spring Picnic (we invite all of our alumni and friends to our house and spend the afternoon outside hanging out and playing games), and our semi-formal (where we go away to a hotel and ever sister brings a date and we have a dinner at the hotel and spend the night swimming in the pool and hanging out).

National Information
Submitted by webmaster on Sun, 09/21/2008 - 12:30.Incorporated in 1977, Kappa Delta Phi, National Affiliated Sorority's roots go back to 1971 when the first chapter was chartered at Husson College in Bangor, Maine, under the guidance of Kappa Delta Phi National Fraternity. The purpose of the sorority was to allow the spirit and principles of the fraternity to be generated among young women in the same college atmosphere. The two would share similar principles but operate separately as their own organizations. In time the sorority flourished and other chapters followed, springing up at colleges and universities throughout the Northeast on over 18 campuses, from the tip of Maine to Southern Pennsylvania. The founding principles of this National Sorority are to develop the highest philanthropic ideals possible within each chapter and individual sister. Providing service to others is the cornerstone on which this Sorority was built. We continue to build on that through various service projects and activities for both the campus and surrounding communities. Kappa Delta Phi nas provides a vehicle for the young colegiate to learn and expand their knowledge of leadership, management skills, and finances in running a successful chapter. Once graduating, the Alumna may opt to join the National Alumnae Association, putting her in touch with a network of women that can be a valuable networking tool in today's working world.
Each spring, Kappa Delta Phi nas holds a National Convention in conjunction with Kappa Delta Phi National Fraternity. This event is one of the highlights of the academic year. At this time, chapters and individual sisters are recognized for their outstanding achievements in a variety of areas, including the National Scholarship. Chapters return home to their campuses with trophies, plaques, and certificates denoting their achievements. This convention is unique from other National Sororities in that it is the only one that invites each and every sister, active or alumnae, to participate.
